Ajwa Reservoir
Quiet backwaters where the river gathers itself before entering the city — the busiest nesting ground on the whole Vishwamitri.
Km 6 · North bank
Sama Wetlands
Reed-lined and slow. Winter mornings bring rows of sub-adults onto the mudflats, sharing space with egrets and softshell turtles.
Km 11 · City heart
Kamati Baug
The river slides past Sayaji Baug, the city's grand 19th-century garden — the densest crocodile neighbourhood in urban India.
Km 15 · Old city
Kala Ghoda Bridge
Commuters cross it twice a day; few glance down. Big territorial males hold the deep pools beneath the arches.
Km 22 · Downstream
Nimeta & Beyond
The river loosens its city collar into farmland. Older crocodiles drift here for quieter water, away from the crowds.
